About the Client

Mark Souza is a successful horror writer, with stories published in numerous horror anthologies. He wanted an updated website design built on the WordPress CMS, and we set him up with search engine optimization and a custom MailChimp header and design as well.

Challenges & Goals:

Though the project seemed very simple at first glance (small website, only a few content areas), the challenge came when we asked the client what he wanted from his new website in terms of the design. While he definitely wanted it to have a "creepy, horror" feel, he wasn't able to quite put his finger on how exactly he'd like it to look. Our designer Chuk let it creep around in his mind a bit and when we presented his first pass at the design to Mark, he was enthusiastic. Chuk had nailed the look and feel on the first try!

Outcome:

The site launched in September 2011 and has received great feedback. It's the perfect set up for a busy horror author to update his titles and information on the fly and perform his own SEO on all he posts, as well. A real win-win!
