The Beginning

The seeds of Rough Ride Creations were sown back in 2004 (under a different URL) as a site dedicated to promoting my writing and the work of other horror/sci-fi writers and dark artists.

Originally called "Dust to Dust: Horror, Memory, Mutation", it was my fun little party piece, my first website design, and my first foray into working with this subject matter online. The original description stated: "This site is an exploration of death, memory, hope and desire in literature, music and art." I had a lame pseudonym, the site was hosted on Geocities and it featured animated gifs. It was awesome!

My professional 'mainstream' web design work began in late 2004 with a nonprofit website, and I began working in online marketing and web design at that time. While working for two web design and internet marketing agencies for five years, I specialized in industrial, commercial, nonprofit and SMB (small to midsize business) website design, web project management, and search marketing. Since 2005, Rough Ride Creations served both mainstream and creative clientele (artists, musicians, etc).

Then, an interview I read featuring Nivek Ogre of Skinny Puppy changed my head and inspired me to serve the clientele I am most passionate about.

The Now

The site you see now is RRC V5.5, coming full circle and bringing all of my marketing and writing skills back to the subject matter I love most. In April 2010, RRC shifted gears away from mainstream small business clients, focusing on horror/sci-fi entertainment, writers and dark art clientele, with a full redesign in support of the change in direction.

We have an incredibly talented team and while we still serve the occasional mainstream client, our focus on the darker side of life attracts clients who inspire us to make each project freakier than the last!
